1.   Inclosed is a copy of the letter dated august 30, 1990 from the Department of Budget and Management clarifying that pursuant to Section 17 of Republic Act No. 6758, the Christmas bonus and retirement pay of teachers shall be computed based on their basic compensation inclusive of the “over and above/transition allowance” received as of June 30, 1989. However, the Christmas bonus and retirement pay of the teachers appointed after June 30, 1989 shall be computed on the basis of their standardized compensation only.

2.   Immediate implementation of this Order is desired.
