1. Effective School Year 1991-1992, Good Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC) will be offered as a dimension of Values Education in all secondary schools.
2. The distinctive features of GMRC are as follows:
a. GMRC is a dimension of Values Education, hence, the subject nomenclature to appear in Form 137 and Form 138 will be Values Education/GMRC.
b. Values Education/GMRC shall be allotted one (1) unit credit in each of the four (4) curricular levels.
c. For purposes of the GMRC grade, all subject teachers and co-curricular advisers shall rate each student on the basis of the student’s observable behaviour, using a set of behaviour indicators with numerical/descriptive equivalents, for submission to the homeroom adviser. The homeroom adviser computes the student’s average grade on the basis of the ratings of the subject teachers and co-curricular adviser for submission to the Values Education/GMRC teacher.
d. The Values Education teacher computes the student’s grade for Values Education/GMRC as follows:
Written Outputs – – – – – – – – 30%
Check-ups – – – – – – 15%
Follow-up – – – – – – 15%
Involvement – – – – – – – – – – 20%
Average grade in GMRC
computed by the home-room adviser – – – – – – – 50%
3. Guidelines on rating Written Outputs and Involvement are embodied in DECS Order No. 52, s. 1989.
4. Specific behavioral indicators shall be issued in a separate Order.
5. This Order supersedes all other orders/issuances that are inconsistent with the aforementioned guidelines.
6. Strict compliance with this Order by all concerned is desired.
