  1. Effective July 20, 1994, the Population Education Program Unit (PEP) is attached to the Office of the Secretary under the direct supervision of the Secretary of Education, Culture and Sports. It shall, however, continue to hold office in its present location at the 3rd Floor, Bonifacio Building, University of Life Complex, Pasig, Metro Manila. Budget and other administrative requirements of this transfer shall continue to be provided by the BSE until December 1994. Starting 1995, budget appropriation for PEP shall be included with the Office of the Secretary.
  2. In accordance with its mandate, the PEP shall continue to perform its functions of curriculum and Instructional materials development, teacher training, research/monitoring/ evaluation, and networking with local and international organizations on the population education concerns for the elementary, secondary, tertiary and nonformal education levels.
  3. The designated regional and divisional population education coordinators under the direct supervision of the regional directors and schools superintendents shall pursue the implementation of population education programs/projects in coordination with the concerned regional and divisional offices of DECS as well as with other government and nongovernment organizations. Budgetary requirements of regional activities shall be included in the regional budget.
