- For the effective implementation of Item IV (A) of DECS Order No. 54, s. 1993 as corrected in DECS Order No. 73, s. 1994, the following schedule shall be observed in assigning points for educational qualification:
Educational Qualification Schedule
For First Level Positions
NON DEGREE
Elementary School Graduate – 3 points
Secondary School Graduate – 5 points
1 year college – 6 points
2 years college – 7 points
3 years college – 8 points
4 years college – 9 points
For Second Level Positions
BACCALAUREATE DEGREE – 10 points
Highly Specialized degrees such as – 15 points
Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of
Laws, Doctor of Dental Medicine
GRADUATE STUDIES
Masters Degree Units
12 units – 11 points
18 units – 12 points
24 units to Completion of – 13 points Academic Requirements
Master ‘ s Degree – 15 points
Doctorate Degree Units
18 units – 16 points
36 units – 17 points Completion of Academic
Requirements – 18 points
Doctorate Degree – 20 points - To qualify for promotion/appointment, the total rating shall be at least 40 points for Level I positions and 50 points for Level 2 positions.
- Lone candidate shall not be subjected to ranking but may be recommended for promotion per appropriate justification by the Recommending Authority/Official, provided said candidate shall meet all requirements of the position being filled.
- Immediate dissemination of this Order to al all concerned is desired.
