1. This Department hereby reiterates its policy of no extension of service (beyond the 65th birthday) of a DepED official/employee, except those covered under RA 8291 specifically Section 13 (b) as indicated in DECS Order No. 7, s. 1998 entitled “Extension of Services of Compulsory Retirees to Complete the Fifteen-Years Service Requirement for Retirement Purposes”. This policy is intended to promote the professional development and career mobility of personnel.
2. In view hereof, Regional Directors are reminded not to recommend to the Civil Service Commission the extension of services beyond the compulsory retirement age except in highly meritorious cases. In cases where the Regional Director has decided to recommend to the CSC the extension of services of an efficient employee, this Office should be furnished with copies of said recommendations within one week of the submission of the recommendation to the CSC.
3. Strict compliance with this Order is hereby directed.
