Addendum to DepEd Order No. 27, S. 2010
Pursuant to DepEd Order No. 27, s. 2010, which states, among others, that the graduation rites shall be conducted in an appropriate solemn ceremony, befitting the graduating students and their parents and shall not in any way be used as a venue for any political activity, you are hereby directed to observe the following guidelines:
- All invited guests during graduation rites, particularly the guest speakers, should be advised to observe and maintain the solemnity of said graduation rites. They must be informed not to make any statements, partisan or non-partisan, relative to the forthcoming May 10. 2010 election exercises. Messages of guest speakers should be completely devoid of any political undertones.
- During graduation rites, there should be no display of streamers, posters, stickers, and the likes, or distribution of any other political or non-political materials relative to the May 10, 2010 elections. There should also be no distribution of gifts, food and/or any other items coming from the invited guests, speakers, or their friends and supporters.
- A copy of this DepEd Order should be furnished to all the guests, especially the guest speakers, before the set date for your respective graduation rites.
Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance of this DepEd Order is directed.
