Addendum to DepEd Order No. 112, S. 2009 (List of Approved Supplementary Reading and Reference Materials)

 

  1. This Department issued the DepEd Order No. 112, s. 2009 entitled “List of Approved Supplementary Reading and Reference Materials”. Item no. 2.b, last sentence reads The enclosed non-exclusive list shall be regularly updated in accordance with the evaluation standards and criteria set by DepEd Instructional Materials Council Secretariat (IMCS).
  2. To update the above-mentioned list, the IMCS coordinated with the National Library of the Philippines (NLP), which has issued a certification identifying thirty- four (34) internationally recognized publishing companies (copy enclosed). These NLP certified international publishers have satisfied one of the requirements, that is, having a pool of experts tasked to review, evaluate, and edit the works of their contributors, writers/authors. Thus, their supplementary reading and reference materials for possible use in public schools do not need to undergo the DepEd’s content evaluation process.
  3. All relevant positions of existing DepEd Orders, Memoranda and other administrative issuances inconsistent with this Order are hereby modified or amended accordingly.
  4. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Order is directed.
