1. On February 14, 2013, the Department of Education (DepEd) issued DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2013 entitled 2013 Graduation Rites. Paragraph 2(b) of the said Order states that: “PTAs may give donations in cash or in kind for the graduation ceremonies.”
2. The DepEd clarifies Paragraph 2(b) of the said Order to mean that “Notwithstanding any PTA resolution authorizing the collection of donations of voluntary contributions in cash or in kind for graduation ceremonies, all graduating students shall be allowed to attend or join the said ceremonies whether or not their parents give the donations for the same.
3. Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Order is directed.
