Metrobank-MTAP-Deped, engage joint venture for 2016 Math Challenge
The delegate representing the Division of Bayugan City on the primary level for individual category came out as the winner of the 2016 Math Challenge Regional Finals. For the secondary level of individual category was garnered by the delegate representing the Division of Agusan del Sur. While the delegate representing the Division of Surigao City was declared as the winner for the elementary level for team category. Delegate representing the Division of Bayugan City won the secondary level for team category. The annual Math Challenge Regional Finals was held on February 19, 2016 in Teacher Development Center, Butuan City. This competition is conducted through the collaborative effort of Metrobank-MTAP (Mathematics Teachers Association in the Philippines)-DepEd in order to sustain the mental prowess of the students and ably maintain their skills in the field of Mathematics. Metrobank via its Foundation Program regarded as the benefactor tapping the expertise of the Mathematics Teacher Association in the Philippines while the Department of Education share its part as the implementing arm to execute the competition. “The Philippines is looking forward the quality of students in the field of Mathematics. The law of preparation constitute best tool to attain good, if not for best results. Let us remember that the winners will not anymore bringing the name of your school and division where you originated but already the name of the region. Constant practice must be observed by the winners in order to prepare themselves for the National Competition, said Curriculum and Learning Management Division Chief Dr. Isidro M. Biol, Jr.” Chief Administrative Officer Raul L. Orozco acknowledged the attendance of all the participants and all those Regional Personnel around. He said, “I considered all the participants as champion for being the representative from their respective school and division as a whole.” Each delegate is backed up with their coaches and some of them were accompanied too by their parents to bolster moral support and provided more strength in building confidence enough to make them ready to participate the competition. National MTAP Representative Mrs. Elizabeth A. Gregore attended the competition together with Mrs. Agnes H. Battad representing for and in behalf of Mr. Elvin C. Talan, Metrobank Manager, Butuan Branch.
