₱10K Educational Research funds approved
In order to strengthen the culture of research in the Department of Education Region IX- Zamboanga Peninsula, the Regional Director, Dr. Isabelita M. Borres has already approved the research outputs for CY2016 with P10,000 each under the Basic Education Research Fund 2015.
The researches included are:1. Improving Mathematics Achievement and Attitude of Grade 10 Students Using Dynamic Geometry Software (DGS) and Computer Algebra Systems by Starr Clyde L. Sebial, Pagadian City Division, Zamboanga Del Sur National High School;2. The Effects of Virtual Laboratory Materials on the Academic Performance in Physics of Grade 10 Students in Zambonga del Sur National High School, by Matthew T. Sabasales, Pagadian City Division, Zamboanga Del Sur National High School; 3. Increasing the Attendance of Eight Grade II Pupils of Concepcion Elementary School Through “Pananghalian Mo, Sagot Ko” Program, by Purirose B. Castro, Sabina Velasco, Zamboanga Sibugay; 4. Best Practices of Secondary Schools in the Division of Zamboanga del Sur: Basis for Improvement of Low Performing Schools by Desiderio A. Logdonio, Zamboanga del Sur Division; Effectiveness of Inquiry Approach on the Academic Achievement in Physics Among Grade 9 Students of Talon-talon National High School by Rodolfo A. Probitchado Jr., Zambanga City Division, Talon-Talon National High School; 5. How to Tell Time Tenselessly with the Voice of the Verb to Teach Chavacano-Speaking Learners English and Filipino by Abee M. Eijansantos, Zamboanga City Division, Bunguiao National High School.
On the other hand, there are also research proposals yet in progress to be completed early part in January. These are the following: 1. The Effectiveness of Cultural Mapping Integration in Information and Communication Technology Lesson Exemplars by Joyce S. Ozaraga, Dipolog City Division; 2. Push Pull Factors of National Achievement Test Results in the Division of Zamboanga Sibugay: Basis for Intervention Programs and Administrative Policies by Angelito A. Aballe, Zamboanga Sibugay Division; and 3. Teachers Digital Literacy and Their Readiness to Use Multimedia in Teaching by El B. Jimenez, Marcihed A. Jimenez, Leonido A. Pampilo Jr., Zamboanga del Norte.
The eight Schools Divisions were also provided the amount of P30,000 as subsidy for the research caravan and other major research activities of the division. The first Schools Division who conducted the major initiative to ensure the establishment of research culture and capacitating the division personnel and district leaders with the research skills was Zamboanga Sibugay Division followed by Isabela Division last September 2016.
The District Leaders of the Sibugay Division also took similar endeavor to stimulate the interest of School Principals and Master Teachers in the following districts, i.e. Titay, Ipil, Imelda and Naga Districts. All the participants were very grateful for the research-related activities that they accepted the challenge of keeping the love for research alive.
