Taking a Look at the 2017 REDP
The Policy, Planning and Research Division of DepEd Region 7 initiated its 2017 Regional Education Development Plan Workshop with all chiefs and their counterparts from the functional divisions, namely: Office of the Regional Director (ORDir); Administrative Division (ADMIN); Curriculum, Learning and Management Division (CLMD); Education, Support Services Division (ESSD); Budget and Finance Division (BFD); Quality Assurance Division (QAD); Human Resource Development Division (HRDD); Field Technical Assistance Division (FTAD); Policy, Planning, and Research Division (PPRD) on April 10, 2017 at Harold’s Hotel. Dr. Juliet A. Jeruta (OIC-Regional Director) emphasized that an integral purpose for Education Development Planning is to craft for the realization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the following facets of the Philippine Basic Education: provision of accessible and complete basic education that promotes fun-filled exposure, value-laiden exploration and enjoyment for the learners; certifying for quality and profound excellence and mastery in both the content knowledge and pedagogical skills in the teaching – learning process; guaranteeing relevance to whatever is contextually applicable and necessary for the learners; and, committing to expose the learners’ interests and inclinations for future liberation from economic difficulties through job readiness and coping capabilities of higher education. She further highlighted that development planning must be upgraded to more than just papers or figures; hence, it necessitates out-of-the-box measures.
The PPRD team dominated the afternoon session with the presentation of the current figures relative to the three essential performance indicators (access, quality and governance) in the education situation of DepEd – RO7 and a planning workshop for crafting different local component projects to achieve better conditions/solutions and improved results in the set indicators for quality performance.
