PASIG CITY, December 22, 2022— The Department of Education (DepEd) welcomes the new batch of licensed teachers as the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) released the results of the October 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) on December 16.

Based on the PRC website, 49,783 out of 91,468 (54.43%) passed the elementary level while 71,080 out of 139.534 (50.94%) passed the secondary level.

Furthermore, PRC also noted that of the 49,783 elementary teacher passers, 29,183 are first-timers, while 20,600 took the test more than once. For secondary teachers, 50,549 passers are first-timers, and 20,531 are repeaters.

Baby Patricia Bensi and Ma. Catherine Cauba from Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College) topped the licensure exam at the Elementary level with a 94.60% rate while, Jessiree Pantilgan from the University of Mindanao-Panabo emerged as the highest in the Secondary level with a 94.60% rating.

Philippine Normal University-Manila was recognized as the top-performing school at the Elementary level with a 95.12% passing rate, where 78 students out of 82 examinees passed the LET.

Meanwhile, the University of the Philippines-Los Baños and the University of the Philippines-Iloilo City topped the Secondary level with a 100% passing rate with 90 and 51 examinees, respectively.

In DepEd-Public Affairs Service (PAS), two Communications Division staff passed the said licensure examination.

Niña Faye Seva from the Media and Content Unit, an AB Filipinolohiya graduate from Polytechnic University of the Philippines, placed 10th overall in the Secondary level of the examination with a rating of 92.40%.

“Working as a Writer in DepEd has exposed me to many inspiring stories of teachers, which motivates me to always do better as a Central Office employee and to perform in the licensure exam, as better as I can,” Seva said.

“I aspire to be like a teacher who is committed to her profession and believes in the importance of their role in nation-building. Thank you for inspiring me. I also express my gratitude to the whole Public Affairs Service, who supports me in this journey,” she added.

Meanwhile, Leironhei Angeline Cabilla from the Public Assistance and Action Center, an AB Communications from Colegio de San Lorenzo, was also able to pass the latest LET.

The Licensure Exam for Teachers was conducted on October 2, 2022, at several testing centers located in Manila and other parts of the country.
