6 March 2024 – The Department of Education (DepEd) warns schools and the public about deceitful individuals falsely representing themselves as authorized personnel of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) or the Vice President and DepEd Secretary to conduct monitoring activities on behalf of the Department.

These individuals have no affiliation with the OVP or any DepEd program, specifically the School Building Program (SBP).

The inspection of school building projects is managed and coordinated through the School Infrastructure and Facilities (SIF) Strand. Therefore, no individuals, contractors, or organizations, including government agencies, are permitted to conduct such activities unless officially recognized and endorsed by SIF.

We urge anyone who encounters such individuals to report them directly or verify their identity with the Office of the Secretary at osec@deped.gov.ph.
