18 September 2024, LOOK: Headed by Education Secretary Sonny Angara, the Department of Education officials met with United States Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson on Tuesday, September 17, to discuss matters concerning education in the country.

Some of the topics that were discussed include learner wellness, DepEd initiatives, and possible programs to help improve the quality of education.

USAID Mission Director Ryan Washburn and Philippine Director Michelle Chen also discussed the possibility of calibrating the Better Access and Connectivity (BEACON) internet connectivity project to cater more schools.

Also present during the meeting were Undersecretary Trygve Olaivar, Undersecretary for Finance Annalyn Sevilla, Assistant Secretary for Operations Malcolm Garma, and Dean Ronald Mendoza.
