Program Title: Equipping Educators: Advancing Content Knowledge and Pedagogy for K to 3 Teachers in Mathematics
Target Participants: Grades 1, 2, and 3 Teachers under Beginning and Proficient career stages
Target Professional Standards: PPST 1.4.1, 1.4.2, 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 2.3.1, 2.3.2, 2.5.1, 2.5.2, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 4.5.1, 4.5.2, 5.1.1, 5.1.2
Active Learning Hours: 19 hours and 20 minutes
By the end of the PD program, the participants will be able to prepare lesson logs that apply varied teaching pedagogies and assessment strategies; and develop a Work Application Plan.
Specifically, all participants will be able to:

discuss how K-3 children learn Mathematics by effectively applying teaching principles and approaches to key concepts across the five content areas in Mathematics;

design multi-sensory teaching pedagogies and meta-cognitive techniques, including the use of HOTS, differentiated instruction, and manipulatives in teaching Mathematics;
-
differentiate assessment types used in Mathematics;

apply multi-sensory pedagogies and techniques through a demonstration teaching; and
-
develop a Work Application Plan (WAP).
