- Complaints from parents about alleged compulsory sales of textbooks, workbooks, school supplies, magazines, leaflets, newsletters, examination or test papers to students and especially to brothers and/or sisters attending the same class or schools have been received by this Office. Likewise, there are complaints alleging that the prices of books and school supplies being sold to parents in school’s bookstores are way above the prices which are approved by DECS and ceiling price set by the government.
- All concerned are hereby enjoined to immediately stop the above practices which violate existing laws, rules and regulations.
- Schools which will continue requiring students to purchase the aforementioned instructional materials and supplies shall be dealt with administratively.
- Strict compliance to this Order and DECS Order No. 36, s. 1990 is desired.
