The Policy, Planning, and Research Division (PPRD) of DepED Regional Office V (Bicol) took the lead in the hosting of the 2019 Year-End Strategic Planning and Assessment Workshop. The event was held at Hotel St. Ellis Legazpi City from January 22 to 24, 2020.
The hosting is the PPRD’s response to the call of USec. Jesus L.R. Mateo, Undersecretary for Planning and Field Operations and Director Roger B. Masapol, Director IV, Planning Service of the Department of Education Central Office to do the national event in Legazpi City.
The workshop activity was participated in by the staff from the Office of Undersecretary for Planning and Human Resource and Operation Division and Field Operations (OUPHRODFO) and Planning Service, and selected representatives from the seventeen (17) Regional Offices particularly the PPRD Chiefs and Regional Planning Officers, and from the one hundred twenty-two (122) Schools Division Offices in the entire country composed of the selected Division Planning Officers and Senior Education Program Specialists (SEPSs) for Planning and Research.
Participants to the said activity were provided with updates on the existing planning related policies of the Department. Included in the workshop was the presentation of the FY 2019 Accomplishment Reports of all Offices and Regional Counterparts; and the synchronization of the FY 2020 Plans and Activities.
Regional Director Gilbert T. Sadsad of DepED Regional Office V joined the Key Officials of DepED Central Office during the Opening Program held on the 22nd day of January. He personally conveyed his welcome address to all the participants and warmly offered his invitation to them to enjoy and experience the beauty of nature that the Bicol Region has to offer.
The participation of the talented students and teachers from the selected schools of the Schools Divisions of Legazpi City and Albay added more color and excitement during the Opening Program.
The student-performers are from the Legazpi City Science High School (LCSHS), Marcial O. Rañola Memorial School (MORMS), Daraga National High School (DNHS), and selected talented teachers of Oro Site High School.
