Use of Public School Buildings and Grounds for Private and Religious Activities

  1. The use of public school buildings and/or grounds/campus for the holding of religious services/activities for the benefit of pupils on Sundays and holidays may be allowed provided that such use does not interfere with regular school activities and that this privilege is equally extended to all religious groups.
  2. In line with the Ministry’s efforts to upgrade the quality of the Madrasah graduates, this privilege is equally extended to the Madrasah.
  3. In giving any religious groups permission to use public school buildings and/or grounds/campus on Sundays and holidays for the purpose of holding religious services/activities for the benefit of pupils/students, please be guided by the regulations contained in paragraph 6 of Circular No. 8, s. 1950. These regulations provide that in all cases school property must be safeguarded. Accordingly, for any damage done to it during any religious services/activities held in school premises, the corresponding repair thereon or compensation therefore shall be the responsibility of the organization, group or individual that requested the use of the building and its premises.
  4. It is desired that this Order be immediately disseminated to all concerned.
