Regulating the Showing of Motion Pictures/Films in School

  1. Subject to limitations provided by law, the use of audio-visual aids and other teaching devices, e.g., radio, television, movies, to facilitate learning in schools, is highly encouraged.
  2. Schools showing movies, be it in 35 mm or in Betamax form, are advised to seek the prior approval of the Movie, Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to determine the suitability of motion pictures/films intended to be shown to any group of audience in the elementary, secondary, and tertiary levels.
  3. Any school proven to have shown movies which had not passed the MTRCB for review and classification, or which had entered the country through illegal means shall be dealt with administratively in accordance with section 69 of Batas Pambansa Blg. 232, without prejudice to the institution of proper criminal charges against the school or its erring officials.
  4. This Order shall take effect immediately.
