1.    In line with the present administration’s thrust of employing the best and the most fit to occupy key positions, the DECS has created a National Search Committee (NSC) to screen all applicants for the positions of Schools Division Superintendents (SDS) and Assistant Schools Division Superintendents (ASDS). The NSC is going over the documents submitted by the applicants and will schedule the date of the interview.

2.    To strengthen further the effectiveness of school officials and to avoid delays and disruptions in the daily operations, the Regional Directors are hereby requested to submit their nominees to be designated as Officer-In-Charge to vacant SDS and  ASDS positions in their respective areas of responsibility, for approval by the Secretary, in the meantime that the search is going on. This is being done so as not to create leadership vacuum in those areas where the vacancy exists.

3.     Regional Directors are, likewise, requested to specify in the designation papers of Officers-In-Charge that such designation shall not mean that the designee will be correspondingly given priority in the promotion. If the designee is interested in the position, he or she may apply formally with the NSC at the DECS Central Office, through the Personnel Division.

4.     This Order shall take effect immediately.
