January 14, 2022 – The Department of Education (DepEd) credited different partners for strengthening the function of the Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development (BHROD) in the continuous development of workforces and related outcomes.

“For organizational effectiveness, we have strengthened our linkages to other government agencies, the AO 25 [Inter-agency task force] in particular, [and AO 25] Secretariat, validating agencies and [DBM]. [We have partnered] with Pag-IBIG for Socialized Housing para sa ating personnel [in terms of employee welfare],” OIC-Undersecretary for Human Resource and Organizational Development Wilfredo Cabral mentioned during the DepEd 2021 General Assembly.

“[We have also created] several partnerships with PSA and the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration. Mayroon na po tayong 894 DepEd CO employees who have registered in the Philippine Identification System or PhilSys for the National ID Registration,” he added.

Usec. Cabral also highlighted the collaboration of the bureau with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for the successful conduct of the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for DepEd Central Office and National Capital Region (NCR) employees in increasing their chances of qualifying for their desired post.

On the other hand, to foster trust in the government through secure and reliable online transactions, BHROD and Information and Communications Technology Service (ICTS) partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to register DepEd employees for their Philippine National Key Public Key Infrastructure (PNPKPI) Digital Signature.

“We could not achieve all of these without the help of our valued stakeholders and partners. Consistent provision of professional development programs; simplified systems and improved working conditions; and allowances, bonuses, and other incentives are only a few items that the agency is continuously working on. Let us focus on preserving the health, safety, and well-being of all in these trying times,” Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones shared.

Meanwhile, Cabral emphasized that BHROD takes part in the engagements with the International Cooperation Office (ICO) in enhancing Philippine participation and cooperation in international bilateral and multilateral programs on education.

Other 2021 activities participated by DepEd, through the BHROD and ICO, are the Online Teacher Exchange Programme (OTEP), the Princess Maha Chakri Award (PMCA), ALCoB ICT Volunteer (AIV) Training Program under APEC, and other high-level meetings such as the 2021 ASEAN High-level meetings and the Forum on International Commitments in Basic Education with the United States of America.
