Guidelines in the Utilization of the Four Hundred Thousand Pesos (Ph400,000.00) Allocation for the S & T Oriented (ESEP) High Schools

  1. The Department of Education considers as its priority the enhancement of the implementation of the S & T Oriented (ESEP) High Schools Program. This program was designed to provide a more intensive Science and Mathematics education in the country. It aims to improve the quality of science and mathematics education and develop a strong science culture among secondary schools.
  2. To this end, DepED has allocated, in addition to the regular MOOE, the amount of Four Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP400,000.00) for each of the originally identified S & T Oriented (ESEP) High Schools and the six Learning Resource Centers (please see enclosed list) implementing the program.
  3. The amount shall be specifically used for the following;
    30% (PhP120,000.00) Procurement of instructional materials including references for Science, Mathematics and Research only
    30% (PhP120,000.00) Procurement, maintenance and repair of previously owned science and mathematics equipment, computers and printers including minor repair of laboratory rooms
    10% (PhP40,000.00) Procurement of consumables for science and mathematics laboratories
    30% (PhP120,000.00) Subsidy for student science researches/projects
  4. The equipment, books and consumables shall be strictly for the use of the students of the Special Science classes of the S & T Oriented (ESEP) High Schools.
