1.  Per DepEd Oder No. 43, s. 2002, entitled “The 2002 Basic Education Curriculum ^“MAKABAYAN” as a learning area shall be headed by a Coordinator designated from among the Head Teachers of the MAKABAYAN component subjects.

2.  Coordinatorship shall be rotated among the heads of the component subjects based on a scheme devised by the school head.

3.  During the pilot implementation of the curriculum, the department heads of the component subjects shall perform their usual supervisory functions while coordinating regularly among themselves to decide on matters concerning integrative teaching.

4.  Reclassification of position of head teachers of any of the four component subjects shall be withheld until the BEC has been institutionalized and a staffing pattern shall have been issued. This does not apply, however, to reclassification of positions already approved prior to June 2002 or the pilot implementation of the 2002 BEC.

5.  Immediate and wide dissemination of this Order is desired.
