Workshop on the Development/Adaptation of Post Literacy Materials Integrating Income Generating Projects
To: Bureau Directors
Regional Directors
Schools Superintendents
- The Post-literacy program is said to be less successful because of the lack of economic motivational value. The fight for economic survival becomes stronger than the need for intellectual pursuit and the learners either fail to enrol or they drop-out from literacy classes.
To make the program attractive, relevant courses could be designed to persuade the learners to participate. The integration of Income Generating Projects in Post-literacy programs is an important subject line in a curriculum framework. - In line with the Curriculum Framework for Nonformal Education Accreditation and Equivalency (NFE-A&E System), materials for Post-literacy integrating Income Generating Projects (PL-IGP) to supplement accreditation of competencies of the learners will be developed/adapted.
- Anent to this, the Bureau of Nonformal Education will Conduct a Seven- Day Development/Adaptation Workshop on Post Literacy Materials Integrating Income Generating Projects (PL-IGP) based on the approved Nonformal Education Accreditation and Equivalency Curriculum Learning Strands on the following dates and venues as agreed upon during a previous workshop on the review of existing materials from September 23- 25, 1998 at Royal Palm Hotel, Ermita Manila:
