DepEd–RO1 Gears up for Brigada Eskwela 2016
City of San Fernando, La Union – The Department of Education Regional Office 1 (DepEd-RO1) embarks anew the successful implementation of this year’s Brigada Eskwela slated on May 30 – June 4, 2016.
Brigada Eskwela is a program where education stakeholders are encouraged to participate and contribute their time, effort, and resources for school maintenance thereby ensuring all public school facilities are ready for the school opening in June.
Dr. Alma Ruby C. Torio, Regional Director, organized a monitoring team composed of Education Program Supervisors and Heads of Unit to visit the different public elementary and secondary schools.
The program is geared toward making schools disaster-prepared, ecologically conscious, clean, and conducive to learning.
Director Torio urged all the Schools Division Superintendents (SDS), School Principals and School Heads to mobilize their Adopt-a-School Program (ASP) and Brigada Eskwela coordinators to ensure the six-day implementation of the maintenance effort and to guarantee involvement of the National and Local stakeholders as well as the community.
The Regional kick–off ceremony will be held at the Tayug National High School, Tayug Pangasinan on May 30, with the theme “Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos at Handa mula Kindergarten hanggang Senior High School.”
Director Torio, Guest of Honor and Speaker, will grace the occasion.
