DepEd maintains Berth in the ARGIO
San Fernando City, La Union – The Department of Education Regional Office I (DepEd-RO1) was re-elected Secretary of the Association of Regional Government Information Officers (ARGIO) during the General Assembly and Induction of New Set of Officers held at the Conference Room of the Department of Health (DOH) on April 7, 2016.
The DepEd obtained a unanimous vote after gathering the highest number of 22 votes in the selection for Board of Directors (BOD). The department will serve for three years.
Assistant Secretary and Department of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Charles C. Jose graced the occasion by presiding the oath taking and Induction of New Officers. He also made presentation and discussion about the West Philippine Sea dispute and its impact to the Filipinos.
As one of the four government agencies tasked to share its flagship program the DepEd discussed about the K to 12 Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum. The members of the ARGIO and the media were informed what SHS is all about with emphasis on the four tracks and their corresponding strands.
The benefits that can be derived by the students if they will undergo SHS were also highlighted and the effect just in case they fail to enroll.
To bolster better coordination between the members of the association they pledged to help one another in the dissemination of their respective advocacies, projects and priority programs.
