Provincial ISPLACOM Highlights Theatrical skills of HS Students in Region I
City of San Fernando (La Union) – The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), in coordination with the Department of Education (DepEd) Region I and the City Government of Dagupan conducted the Provincial Inter-school Stage Play Competition (ISPLACOM) on September 9, 2015 at the CSI Stadia, Dagupan City.
The activity aimed to showcase the skills of students and at the same time promote DDB’s campaign message for the year – “Kaya Ko ‘To Nang Walang Droga.” It also intended to foster camaraderie, teamwork and sportsmanship among the participants.
Among the 12 participating public high schools in Dagupan, Alaminos City National High School emerged as the winner. The Mangaldan NHS and Sual NHS garnered second and third prize, respectively.
The winners of the competition were judged according to the story of the play in connection with the theme, characterization, props, set design and audience impact. They were given cash prizes, trophies and will have an opportunity to perform during DDB’s Advocacy programs particularly in various schools and universities.
Ms. Saula T. Jomaya, Education Program Supervisor of the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD) delivered the closing remarks in behalf of Dir. Teresita M. Velasco which was centered on intensifying campaign against drug abuse and empowering the youth to focus more on activities that will enhance their skills in performing arts, sports and other educational activities.
