DepEd Region 8 to conduct TVL Training for Grade 11 teachers
The Department of Education Regional Office 8, through the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD), is set to conduct the Mass Training of Teachers (MTOT) for Senior High School Grade 11 for the Technical-Vocational Livelihood (TVL) Track on June 20 – 28, 2016 at Leyte Park Hotel and Milka Hotel in Tacloban City, Leyte.
479 teachers who come from different parts of the region are expected to attend this training. These teachers will be participating in this eight-day training while trusted resource speakers have been invited to share to the participants their valuable knowledge and skills about the subject matter at hand. The training will help the Grade 11 teachers be more equipped with the knowledge that they need to make their students acquire more skills and information relative to the TVL track that they have enrolled in.
Mass trainings for teachers assigned to the other three tracks have also been conducted prior to this. Last May 18-30 this year, MTOT for the Arts and Design track was conducted at the International Hotel, Los Banos, Laguna. Likewise, last June 1-10, 2016, MTOT for the Sports track was also held in Tagaytay International Convention Center in Tagaytay City.
For the Academic Track, the MTOT for the Grade 11 teachers hired in Region 8 was conducted last May 25, 2016 and ended June 11, 2016. This was held in three different venues in the City as more than 900 teachers were in attendance in this 18-day training.
The conduct of these mass trainings is a part of the numerous preparations of the Department of Education to make the full implementation of the Grade 11, as part of the K-12 Program, effective and successful. “What we want is a seamless transition from the current to the enhanced curriculum that is more responsive to learning needs of students and the community,” DepEd Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro stated. These trainings all aim to help prepare the teachers for the task of honing the children to their fullest potential while they guide them towards the track that the learners have chosen that will then prepare them for either college or employment which they will both be qualified for after attending Senior High School.
