Sergio Osmeña National High School represented Region IX in the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Manila in November 26.

Prior to their feat in the national, a live performance at the Immaculate Concepcion, Davao City for the Mindanao-wide Rondalla Competition in September 12 unlocked opportunity for them to be qualified to perform in the finals.

There were nine NAMCYA 2015 Rondalla category B finalists who performed two contest pieces of their own choice.  Mr. Arthuro M. Lamdag, SONHS trainer and conductor chose “Serenade” and “Mapayapang Hangad” as the group’s preference.

This year’s theme is “Taghoy ng Kalikasan-Sagot ay Musikahan(Nurture Nature with Music).” This is the fourth-time that the Sergio Osmeña NHS Rondalla made it to the NAMCYA finals.
