ZamPen to host NSPC, NFOT 2017
These two major activities of DepEd will showcase the talents and skills of the pupils and learners as a manifestation of transfer of their learning from the classroom.
The Press Conference which will be held on Jan. 22-25, 2017 back to back with the Festival of Talents on Jan. 25-27 are expected to stand off more or less 7,000 participants including officials and the National Technical Working Group.
The region has started its preparation for the event as early as April, this year. It needs synergy and collaboration of all members of DepEd in Zamboanga Peninsula including the Local Government Units.
Having given the challenge, Director Borres has also started making series of consultations as part of the preparations with DepEd Regional Officials, Schools Division Superintendents as well as local government officials.
As of this time, the region is looking for the possibilities of the specific venue where to host the NSPC and NFOT considering the logistics required for hosting.
Recently, the Governor of Zamboanga del Sur, Hon. Antonio H. Cerilles and the City Mayor of Pagadian, Hon. Romeo P. Pulmones have expressed their intent to support the hosting of the Press Conference. On the other hand, Zamboanga del Norte Governor, Hon. Roberto Y. Uy and Dipolog City Mayor, Hon. Darel Dexter T. Uy are also interested to host the Festival of Talents in Dipolog City.
Region IX-Zamboanga Peninsula has hosted NSPC in years 1964 and 1985. After 32 years, it is now given back to this region. This will be a landmark activity for Region IX with the leadership of the eight Schools Division Superintendents Dr. Teresita Cascolan, Dr. Victorina Perez, Dr Nasser Elang (OIC), Dr. Pedro Melchor Natividad, Dr. Marcom Borongan, Dr. Hilda U. Babon, Dr. Natividad P. Bayubay and Dr. Felix Romy Triambulo.
