DO 24, s. 1997
Revised Policy on the National Elementary Assessment Test (NEAT) Grade
To: Bureau Directors
Regional Directors
Schools Division Superintendents
Presidents, State Colleges and Universities
Head of Private Schools, Colleges and Universities
- Inasmuch as the 1996 NEAT was administered to only a group of randomly sampled pupils, the NEAT grade will no longer be included in the computation of the pupil’s general average. In the case of the National Capital Region (NCR) where the NEAT was administered to all grade VI pupils the NEAT rating will still form part of the grade.
- The NEAT scores may be utilized as baseline data for research on the competencies/skills of Grade Six pupils. School heads who are interested to know how their pupils performed in the different competencies in the four (4) subject areas may request a report on the matter from the National Educational Testing and Research Center (NETRC) at a minimal cost.
- This policy is effective school year 1996-1997. This Order supersedes previous issuances on the matter.
- Widest and immediate dissemination of this Order is desired.
