1. In view of the nationwide clamor of many teachers and school officials to restore the practice of crediting awards and certificates of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines for merit promotion purposes to serve as incentive to DECS personnel for their exemplary service and meritorious accomplishments, the Department is hereby reviving the said practice.
2. Henceforth, the qualification, achievement and awards given by the Girl Scouts of the Philippines to DECS organic personnel in recognition of their meritorious service and accomplishment shall be credited a maximum of two (2) points in the DECS Merit Promotion System as indicated in particulars in Inclosure I.
3. The inclosed guidelines should be strictly followed as spelled out.
4. The GSP National Office shall verify and certify to the achievements of any teacher-grantee and issue the corresponding National Award Certificate as recommended by the Local Council.
5. All DECS issuances contrary to the provisions of this Order are hereby rescinded.
6. Immediate dissemination of this Order to all concerned is desired.
7. Please be guided accordingly.
