The Samot-Saring Buhay: A Toolkit on Philippine Biodiversity is a teacher’s reference material that showcases the country’s diverse flora and fauna and its interconnectedness with our way of life. The Samot-Saring Buhay Toolkit provides information on Philippine biodiversity, threats, and conservation efforts. It discusses the adversity faced by our biodiversity and its effect to our health, economy, and resilience to hazards. It also contains sample activities and further resources for teaching Philippine Biodiversity. Through the Samot-Saring Buhay Toolkit, the Department of Education Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS) and the Biodiversity Conservation Society of the Philippines (BCSP) hopes to increase awareness and appreciation of the country’s rich biodiversity and encourage participation and leadership of teachers and learners in conservation efforts.
